Fool's Gold takes place in a western and regency era inspired sci-fi world. Ofilia, the daughter of an ex space pirate, joins up with a member of her father's old crew and his robot to try and save the planets from a mysterious alien technology called the stella obscura - which the government known as the Magistratus is desperately trying to find.
